Ryan checked in for Sport King out of La Waterfront Sportfishing. We had a good day today at Catalina Island. Light line and the artificials were the ticket. We had decent bass and barracuda fishing along with some other kelp dwellers in the mix. We managed 5 nice yellowtail as well! Come prepared to spend time at the rail, and you'll have a good day.Our 25 passengers caught 5 yellowtail, 20 barracuda, 89 calico bass, 150 calico bass released, 14 sheephead, 55 halfmoon perch 2 opaleye, and 30 whitefish.

Anthony checked in for Sport King out of La Waterfront Sportfishing. Beautiful weather at Catalina. It's very tedious fishing still. You have to really work for a bite, but the opportunity is still there. I know it sounds like a broken record, but light line helps a lot to get a bite. Just got put your time at the rail. Jigs and Artificials are a must-have, too. We had a nice charter today. Managed 4 nice yellowtail, a handful of bass, and other kelp dwellers.

Anthony checked in for Sport King out of La Waterfront Sportfishing. Good day today at Catalina Island. Light line and the artificials were the way to go. We managed to grab a couple of yellowtail and a nice halibut. Some barracuda, bonito, calico bass, and other kelp dwellers rounded out our day. Overall, there were lots of opportunities. Tackle recommendations: 15lb to 40 lb test, fluorocarbon helps as well. Small sliders 1/8 to 1/2oz. Size 4 to 3/0 hooks. Different size plastics as well as big, small, heavy, and light jigs (blue and white, mint, and scrambled egg). Our final count today: 2 yellowtail, 1 halibut, 48 calico bass, 100 calico bass released, 8 barracuda, 2 bonito, 67 halfmoon perch, 11 sheephead, and 20 whitefish.
